Congratulations! Conversation Club is open))
For one thing, we should comply with some rules: 1)English speakers are not allowed to laugh at those, who learn to speak. 2) English speakers shouldn't be afraid to make mistakes. We are all people, we are not sinless . Well, that'll be enough for a start. Good luck! -------------------- Stick and stones may break your bones but words will never hurt you.

Don't know what to discuss. But I have a question, who knows this book: Truman Capote "Breakfast at Tiffany's"? Is ıt good to read or no? Do you want to read this book in English or in Russian? If in English, no matter what you choose, then read it. Because it can help you improve your English. By the way, Beauty, can you answer my question? Why do you think I wrote "help you improve" instead of "help you TO improve" ? I ask this question, because you can come across it when you sit for an exam next year. -------------------- Stick and stones may break your bones but words will never hurt you.

Do you want to read this book in English or in Russian? If in English, no matter what you choose, then read it. Because it can help you improve your English. My english teacher offered us to read this one, don't know to agree or not. I thought that it's better to choose such books you know with modern language. But she said, almost in all last books english is not so good, like in classic books. I've read already only some parts of Sherlock Holmes, O.Wilde and Coelo "Veronica decide to die". It was easier to read last one, because in another there were so many useless old words, that i won't use in speaking... Who will choose the theme?)) -------------------- "Neçə külək gərəkdir, göz yaşlarımı qurutmaq üçün

I read English classics in English only because of the language. Do you know what foreigners like most of all? They like when english-learners sound old and classic. It is the true language. Not what we can learn from modern writers. If you want to learn Modern English it better for you to buy a dictionary of the English slang. And you will learn it in one-week time. BUT to look great and wise and smart you should read novels written by classics. Start with Oscar Wilde "The picture of Dorian Gray". It's not big and difficult, but very interesting, and you can find so many good word combinations. Just write down all unknown and useful phrases (not words, but word combinations, such as, e.g, to mock AT smb, to look haggard and so on and so forth, but not just "to mock" and "haggard" - bare words won't do) and you won't be disappointed in the language. Ok, I'll ask a question) Literature ( why not? ). What is the best book you've ever read and why? Explain your choice. -------------------- Stick and stones may break your bones but words will never hurt you.

J-Runka, my girl, you're right, you repeated everything what said me my teacher. But I'm so lazy.... You know i've even begun to read Dorian Grey last year, but stopped on the half of this book))), maybe because i've read it in russian before, don't know. and to write down all word combinations, of course it's good idea, but again laziness..... But with modern books it's easier So i should try to control myself, and don't search easy ways of life)). Цитата Ok, I'll ask a question) Literature ( why not? ). What is the best book you've ever read and why? Explain your choice. I think i will read the best book.... I have many favourite books, like "Vanity fair", "Старик и море" (don't know how in original language ), "Crime and punishment"(right?) and so on..... I like books of classic, because they were written centuries ago, but problems that were described are yet actual for our time.... I like english writers, because of their self-irony. I like books with historical implication, when writer connect plot with famous historicalm events or show us his main hero, his behaviour during his life, in this events like in "Jan-cristof".... So what about you, your favourite books? -------------------- "Neçə külək gərəkdir, göz yaşlarımı qurutmaq üçün

Dear, If you try to search easy ways of learning English, you'll never learn it, for English requires perseverance and diligence. So, you should get rid of your laziness and work with zeal so as to speak fluent English. Well, anyway, wish you luck in your undertakings/beginnings . So what about you, your favourite books? Well, I have lots of favourite books, I adore reading and read every day. One of my favourites is Stefan Zweig "Нетерпение сердца" ( I don't write it in English in order not to make mistakes, for I read it in Russian). This book seemed to be interesting, because I was wondering how a mere man, a mere writer could understand women's souls and feelings. I was shocked by this book and couldn't read anything for 10 days. I have lots of favourite books. Let's see... Salman Rushdi "Shame", Anar "I, you, he and a telephone", Dostoevsky "Crime and Punishment", Chabua Amiredjibi "Data Tutashkhia" and so on and so forth. I need too much time to comment on these books, because I like them whole-heartidly. -------------------- Stick and stones may break your bones but words will never hurt you.

Yes, i think first i'll read this one - Salman Rushdi "Shame", then we'll see... You know, I'v got to tell you something. This book is difficult to read. So in order not to blow your money on things which you probably don't like, I offer my book to you. We can meet and I'll give it to you. -------------------- Stick and stones may break your bones but words will never hurt you.

Have you already found him? ) Well, an ideal man.... He will be ideal for me, if he is interesting, clever, I mean read much, I won't object if he is handsome)) What else...It's important his attitude to women, I mean important that he respect them. Oh, I forgot, better of course if he reach success in his profession, i mean he is well-to-do man. You know I can make a big list with a lot of features of ideal man's character, but it's useless Of course it's good to dream a little, but... Who knows whom we'll meet at future... Don't know how in englishh: любовь зла....... And by the way, there's no man in our club , so they won't know, what features we appreciate (I can use this verb?) most... Oh, and the last, no I haven't found him yet. -------------------- "Neçə külək gərəkdir, göz yaşlarımı qurutmaq üçün
